Silver Age Britain was popular with fans but was rebooted post-Crisis without an Empire but as a member of the EU. Post-Crisis Britain did just fine but gradually some fans grew frustrated with the continual events such as Fin(anci)al Crisis, angry at the price of keeping up, and enraged by a media furious at an supposed influx of new characters “for diversity’s sake”. Offered the chance to reboot Britain again they took it, imagining they were going back to the Silver Age but to everyone’s horror ending up with the New 52.
It’s Free Comic Book Day! I started collecting on a similar note – this comic was in a stack of free books that came to me from a family friend. The images of oil have stuck with me (see what I did there?) for all of these years. Sure, visit your LCS today but maybe you know a kid or two who would get a kick out of some of your old books!
Agent Carter needs to leap forward into the 1960’s and move into the Cold War/Steranko SHIELD era. Would be the shot in the arm the series needs, in my opinion.
Would be great seeing an older Peggy doing her thing in an era of James Bonds, psychedelia, rising global tensions and hemlines.
Would be great to see her trying on different personas. In a nice nod to old SHIELD, one of them could be Contessa Valentina de Allegra Fontaine.
Would also love seeing her meeting for the first time, a very tiny baby Anthony Stark.
the 3 levels of existential awareness (as learned from watching road runner over the years): child me: why is the coyote trying to eat that cute bird. haha bad stuff happened to the mean coyote, see that pathetic look he’s giving me as he plummets to his doom? i am laughing at him! teen me: why is all this terrible stuff happening to the coyote? he’s just trying to eat. stop laughing at him, road runner! adult me: coyote is his own worst enemy, but he never stops dreaming and working. his struggle is my struggle. see that painfully self-aware look he’s giving me as he plummets to his doom? i am laughing with him.
The conflict between these two is off the charts deep.
Daredevil is a man desperately trying to hold onto his faith and comes into direct conflict with The Punisher, a man who once wanted to be a priest and has lost faith completely.
And they’re fighting for the soul of Hell’s Kitchen.
